At 6:12am we met our SON! I still can't believe that we have a son.
Here's a picture of the little cutie:
His name is Lincoln Paul - Lincoln because Illinois (the "Land of Lincoln") is where my husband and I fell in love, and Paul after both my father and my great-grandmother (it was her maiden name).
He is unbelievable amounts of fun.
Changing time with daddy.
Baby feets.
We call this his "T-Rex." He has plenty of room to move his arms, but he likes keeping them in like they are tiny T-Rex arms.
"Hey, Mom. We got this."
I had a very fast and wonderful birth experience, but boy - they don't call it labor for nothing! This was me, 4 days post-partum, needing a little break from the long 1-block walk from the car to the bench.
Now, nearly 3-weeks after Lincoln's birth, I'm feeling lots better. Sleepy (the little man is a great eater, which translates to lots of getting up for meals during the night), but better.
I can't believe how fun the little guy is. Or that he's finally here! We are so thankful to God for Lincoln's sweet spirit, healthy body, and timely arrival. He was 10 days late, but he came when he was ready and not a moment too late.
After his birth, I'm even more in favor of midwife and doula-assisted hospital birth. I won't post all the details here (though I hope to post a short birth story later - if folks are interested!), but it wouldn't have been the same birth experience without our midwife and doula. They were truly invaluable.
Been checking in frequently....practically had the basil cream recipe memorized!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Mom and Dad and welcome to the world, Lincoln Paul!!
A blessing of God, indeed!
So happy for you!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. I am so happy to hear all went well and you have a healthy baby boy. I would be interested in hearing about it.
ReplyDeleteWe are slightly behind you at 33 weeks. Baby is already 5 lbs. Doctor said today he should be a big baby.
Congratulations! He is so beautiful! Hope you are getting some rest!
