I get whole piles of annoyed with cosmetics companies. It can be SOOOO difficult to find out what's in lipstick. Sometimes I resort to trial-and-error, and end up regretting it.
Two weekends ago I had a job interview, and put on my best and most professional face, which included some old Clinique lipstick I hadn't worn in awhile. A few moments later, my tummy began rumbling. Nothing terrible--I didn't need to bolt for "the facilities, praise Jesus--but not fun, either. So in the trash it went. Clinique's not too good about knowing what goes into its lip products.
I needed to replace the lipstick-of-danger, so I googled around a bit. I didn't want to have to check every flavor or type, I just wanted to head over to Target and pick up a color based on what looked good. Enter: Burt's Bees.
ALL of their lip shimmers and ALL of their lipsticks are gluten-free. I choose Peony in the lip shimmer (I tend to be more of a lip gloss girl than a lipstick one, anyway), since nude lips are in. I love, love, love it, and it was only $5.
Choose your color. Choose a few, if only to thank them for disclosing their ingredients. Put on your pretty church face and pucker up!
