He Sowed She Sowed

This is my ridiculously cute niece. She's a bit of a ham, and I love her for it.

For those of you interested in sustainability, sewing, gardening, or composting, check out my little sis's blog:

He Sowed She Sowed. She made these cute leggings for her daughter, pictured above.

Here she and my bro-in-law chronicle their escapades with their two ridiculously cute little girls, their garden, and their sewing machine.

My sis set up a bold challenge for herself this year. For all of 2011 she wants to make her girls' clothes. They can wear what they already own, but since they're eleven months old and two-and-three-quarters-years old respectively, they are growing like weeds. So she is sewing up a storm.

Not only that, but she's sewing ALL of their clothes out of recycled old clothes. Thrift store finds, shirts she doesn't wear anymore, clothing she finds in the "free" bin at the end of their seminary hallway. And you know what else? They are ridiculously cute. I wish I had half the skill with a needle and thread that she does!

I'd love to learn to sew like this, but for now I'll content myself with passing along clothes that don't fit me anymore. Nothing makes my sewing sister Caitlyn happy like a package in the mail full of thrift store finds!
