In our last home, we had about eight square inches of counter space... No, I exaggerate. We probably had eighteen inches of counter space. I ended up using the dining room table to roll out cookies, the coffee table to serve guests, and the stove to stack mixing bowls, leading to messy, messy cooking.
Now?
Soooo much counter space. Enough for paper towels, the KitchenAid mixer, the napkin holder, and a whole pile of Bosc pears. I am addicted to Bosc pears.
What is that, you say? More counter space? Be still, my beating heart.
It's a joy to cook in here. I can roll out cinnamon roll dough, chop a pile of vegetables, and let a fresh loaf of bread cool and still have some counter space left. It's amazing the difference a little bit of space makes in my cooking energy.
Did I mention my new pride and joy?
I am loving my new Wisconsin home, counters, oven, and all!
Double oven?! Jealous :)
ReplyDeleteSO nice, Court!!!! Space makes a huuuuge difference in cooking/baking energy, you're so right!! I am experiencing the same thing with our new home. I LOVE cooking so much more now that I have more space. So happy for you.
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely, lovely!!! What wonderful countertops, and I haven't recovered yet from the double oven! What an amazing blessing.
