While in California, we checked out Pam MacD's gluten free market. I'd heard about this store through the blogosphere, and I couldn't wait to check it out.
The store had all it promised - lots of gluten free products and only gluten free products.
I'd seen most of the products before, but I did discover this little gem:
Yummy Earth's organic gummy worms. They are so tasty we went back the next day and bought a few bags to take home with us. Gummy worms truly are the way to my heart.
(I know, I know, I have the palate of an 8-year old...)
Pam MacD's had a great array of products, but I had two small quibbles:
1) The prices were often a bit higher than I could get the same products for at other stores like Whole Foods or our local supermarket.
2) The store doesn't use it's space well. It is a spacious store, but its aisles are arranged in a way that makes it feel sparse, not spacious. If I were them, I'd consider renting out part of their space to another store.
If you live in the neighborhood, Pam MacD's is worth a stop, but I wouldn't go far out of my way to stop there. It's in Burbank at 3516 W. Magnolia.
Has anyone else visited a dedicated gluten free market? Where was it, and what was it like?
