Apparently pregnancy and heartburn go together.
Apparently almost everyone on earth knew this but me.
I have never in my life gotten heartburn until now. Six weeks into pregnancy, BAM. At first, I didn't even know what it was. Had I had something really hot to drink? Had the beef stroganoff my husband made for dinner burned my esophagus on the way down? What was that hot-hot-hot feeling near my heart?
Oh, right.
So I took a trip down to the drugstore to find some relief. As those of you who are gluten free already know, trips to the drugstore can be difficult. Drug makers don't always disclose gluten in their products, and finding accurate information can be really tricky.
I went first to the brand one of my good girlfriends has told me is indispensable in pregnancy - Tums. Would they be gluten free? Would they?
Check out that blue box near the bottom. They are! Hooray! These trusty Tums have been by my side nonstop for the past two months. They helped a lot at the beginning.
The heartburn's gotten progressively worse, however. The Tums still take the edge off, but I may have to look for something stronger in the months to come if it doesn't improve.
Do you have any secret heartburn remedies?
Bananas worked great for me for heart burn and that morning noon and night sickness
