I occasionally make my way over to read the writings of the women over at Dirty, Sexy Ministry. (Don't worry - it's not dirty at all, just an attention-grabbing blog title!) This post was so good, I had to share.
It's called "What Priests Want You to Know," but it applies to us ministers, too (and a whole host of other religious professionals, I'd wager!). I especially agree with #1 through #4.
After working for hospice, where I only knew my patients for a few weeks or months, I wasn't prepared for how very much more I'd miss my parishioners--some of whom I've now known for over a year--when they died. Those funerals are tough.
If you work in ministry - anything you'd want to add to the list?
If you are a churchgoer but not in regular ministry - anything on this list surprise you?
