No, that's not some sort of slang for the baby that's still a-cookin' in my tummy.
We actually made watermelon! Look!
Well, we planted it and watered it. God made it grow.
And, to be honest, when I say "we planted it and watered it" I should say my husband planted it and watered it and weeded it. With temperatures upwards of 100 degrees this summer, this pregnant lady mostly watched from the kitchen window and then enjoyed the fruits of the garden when they were ripe.
I have been loving watermelon this summer, so my husband planted a few in the late spring just to see what would happen. Would they survive the scorching heat and the crazy droughts that have plagued southern Wisconsin? Would they wither like our green peppers? Would they make it to watermelon adulthood?
They made it! And they are soooo good. Sweet and juicy and pink as can be.
What's in your garden?
