There's nothing like getting together with a gluten free friend, is there?
I remember so fondly the Thanksgiving my husband and I spent with the Gluten Free Cat. I love, love, love eating out with my mom, a fellow gf eater. This week I get to share a lunch with a fellow gluten free eater and new pastor in the area. The fellowship of sharing a meal with someone who also navigates the gluten free landscape is sweet fellowship indeed.
That's one of the reasons my recent trip to Durham, North Carolina was such fun. I was away for a week of study leave (my denomination mandates two weeks annually of Continuing Education, and these weeks are an incredible joy, rejuvenation, and blessing to us pastors!) at Duke Divinity School. While I was there, I had the opportunity to meet the delightful author of Gluten Hates Me for a quick breakfast.
We discovered that we have lots in common - we've both been gf for several years now, we've both transitioned from the "Look! Gluten free cookies!" stage into a deeper appreciation of natural foods, we both love Jesus, and we are both married to incredible men who eat 95% gluten free just to support and love us.
If you don't read the Gluten Hates Me blog, it's well worth checking out. It's full of good advice, good recipes, and good humor. And now that I've met its author in real life, I love it even more.
What are your go-to blogs? Have you ever met any of their authors in real life?
Yay blog friends!!!!
