My hilarious and inspiring sister Cait, author of He Sowed She Sowed, recently introduced me to The Original Pancake House. Oh. My. Goodness.
Cait and I were in the Twin Cities to celebrate my youngest sister's upcoming marriage. We had a great dinner at P.F. Chang's (a restaurant that has recently expanded its gluten free menu! hooray!) but breakfast took the cake. The pan-cake, that is. Heh.
They have a wealth of gluten free offerings, starting with pancakes that range from straight-up buttermilk to chocolate chip to pumpkin to peanut butter. They also offer gluten free Belgian waffles, crepes, and a dozen types of omelettes. Add to that fresh-squeezed orange juice and it's breakfast heaven.
I felt so blessed to be able to celebrate this exciting marriage, eat an amazing breakfast, and hang with my sisters for a couple of days. And I'm thankful to have sisters who are so sensitive to my gluten free needs, even though they can (and do!) eat gluten to their hearts' content. Although, as Cait said, "The Original Pancake House is so good, we would have gone there even if they didn't have gluten free food. Sorry - it's just that good!"
Have you ever been to one of the Original Pancake Houses? What's your favorite gluten free breakfast spot?
I LOOOOVE The Original Pancake House. So delicious! I am very glad they had a gluten free menu so you didn't have to watch us eat. jk we would have brought you a REALLY nice granola bar and banana. Last weekend was so much fun. Can we do that every couple months please, except lets stay at a friends house and NOT the crown crappy plaza, ew
