I apologize for my lengthy absence. Almost a month! Eep! What have I been doing with myself?
It's been a busy few weeks, and when that happens sometimes the blog suffers. I hate it when that happens on blogs I frequent. I'm sorry for the absence.
Where have I been? Well, church has been very active, which is a truly wonderful thing. It's kept me hopping!
Between preparing for our Annual Meeting, preparing to host our local Presbytery at the end of the month, kicking off winter programming, and officiating at a funeral for one of our church's very dear members, I've been running in several directions at once. I've been loving it, but it hasn't left a lot of blogging brainspace.
On top of church busyness, my wonderful husband is in the throes of PhD exam prep, so I've been working hard to keep him fed, watered, and sane. Which mostly means reminding him to eat, snuggle with the cats, and take breaks to watch The Office. It's amazing the brain-refreshing qualities of that show.
If you think of it, send up a prayer for him. The exams are over three weeks in March and though I know he'll knock them out of the park (keep in mind that this guy has never ever gotten a grade below an A-. not in college. not in kindergarten. not now. he's smarty-pants-ridiculous.), they're pretty nerve-wracking nonetheless.
Daryl and I also joined a bowling league back in the fall, and, surprise-of-all-surprises, we are in first place. No thanks to my nightly average of 85. It's tons of fun and great fellowship. Plus, we are bowlers, now. We bowl. Or golf, I guess. Insert Big Lebowski reference here...
Anyway, I'm back. And there are a host of blog posts in the pipeline, including updates on Costco's amazing gluten free selection, Red Robin's new gluten free buns (!), gluten free vacationing, and the best crockpot recipe we've come across in months.
Stay tuned.
