For My Catholic Friends

It's been news in the Celiac community for some time that the Vatican requires gluten-containing hosts (wafers) for the Eucharist. This has caused its share of controversy, understandably.

Yet those with Celiac in the Catholic Church have begun to find a helpful middle road.

Check out this post from the Chicago Tribune this year on January 18 for some great details and really touching personal stories:

Communion hosts available for gluten-intolerant worshipers.

If you attend a Catholic church, have you had experience taking low-gluten communion? What was it like?
